LANDBANK promises priority loan processing for MinDA-endorsed Mindanao agribusinesses
A new agreement signed during the Mindanao Development Forum 2026 gives farmer cooperatives and firms under MinDA's TEAM Project a faster track to LANDBANK financing.
The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) will give priority treatment to loan applications from farmers and agribusinesses endorsed by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), under an agreement the two agencies signed in Davao City, according to Mindanao Times.
The memorandum of agreement was signed on Oct. 28, the second day of the Mindanao Development Forum 2026. It grew out of the Mindanao Agriculture Value Chain Stakeholders and Investors Forum held in the city on Oct. 26.
The deal covers firms and farmer cooperatives assisted by MinDA's Transformational Enterprise Support for the Agribusiness Value-Chains of Mindanao (TEAM) Project.
Charlotte I. Conde, executive vice president of LANDBANK's National Development Lending Sector, said the bank would open a "green lane" for applicants. "I have instructed the head of our Mindanao operations to give priority to applications endorsed by MinDA," she said, adding that the bank will strictly follow required turnaround times.
Financing will come through LANDBANK's AGRISENSO Plus and LIFTING MSMEs programs and other appropriate credit facilities, with options such as contract growing and accounts receivable financing. MinDA will identify and pre-screen potential borrowers, connect them with technical and enterprise development services, and help LANDBANK track results.
The agreement also provides for training in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, digitalization and business management, as well as mentorship, data sharing and trade fair participation.
MinDA chairperson Secretary Leo Tereso A. Magno said Mindanao's farm output must be tied to financing, technology, processing and reliable markets to lift farmers' incomes. He said the TEAM Project works with government agencies, lenders and industry partners to align support with priority agricultural value chains.
The partnership follows Executive Order No. 101, series of 2025, which strengthened implementation of the Sagip Saka Act supporting farmers' enterprises. LANDBANK first vice president Eden Japitana and MinDA executive director Undersecretary Janet M. Lopoz witnessed the signing.
Why it matters for Davao
Farmer cooperatives and agribusinesses in Davao and across Mindanao that join MinDA's TEAM Project may gain faster access to government bank credit along with training and market support.
