During a radio interview, spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser stated that the city has 511 active cases for the past two weeks, with 239 cases from July 17 to 23, and 272 cases from the previous week from July 10 to 16. On July 25 and 27, an additional 30 positive cases were recorded.

From July 17 to 23, there were 160 mild cases, 74 asymptomatic cases, three moderate cases, and two severe cases. There were also five deaths, including two unvaccinated senior citizens.

The cause of death in these cases is still unknown, but Schlosser believes they had pre-existing conditions that were exacerbated by the coronavirus.

The 272 cases from July 10 to 16 are made up of 131 asymptomatic, 127 mild, and 14 moderate cases.

“The indicator of this is atong mismong behavior towards sa pag manage sa atong kalaban (our behavior towards managing Covid-19). Ang pag taas sa atong (The increase of the) cases will be dependent on the cooperation and discipline of the people,” Schlosser said, referring to the compliance of the public to the minimum public health standards.

In addition, City Health Office head Dr. Ashley Lopez said on July 25 that the city has a seven-day moving average of 30 cases per day, which he said is hopefully the peak for Davao City and may decline soon.

“I am confident that we will not surpass the current (trend of cases). Murag mao na ni ang peak sa Davao, kini atong mga kaso karon na mag average of 30 to 32 cases per day (The daily average of 30 to 32 cases is probably the peak for Davao),” Lopez said.
