The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) recorded zero incidents during its security operations for All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, as 174,807 people visited cemeteries across the city, according to NewsLine Philippines.

The DCPO, headed by Police Colonel Peter Madria, deployed 556 Philippine National Police personnel for the Undas 2026 operations. They were joined by 136 personnel from augmenting units, among them Task Force Davao, the Philippine Coast Guard and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Another 1,232 members of advocacy groups worked with authorities to support safety measures in the city's cemeteries, the report said.

Police coordinated with local government units, partner agencies and the city's safety and security cluster. Their measures included increased police visibility and crowd management to keep the observance orderly.

Madria thanked the personnel, partner agencies, advocacy groups and the public who took part. He credited the result to operational readiness, cooperation among agencies and strong community partnership.

NewsLine Philippines described the incident-free observance as a shared achievement. It said keeping the peace during large gatherings depends on cooperation between institutions and residents, not on police alone.

Why it matters for Davao

The incident-free observance meant families in Davao City could visit cemeteries safely during one of the year's largest public gatherings. Police credited the result to coordination between agencies and community volunteers.
