ICT Davao Inc. will recognize companies, organizations and individuals that have used artificial intelligence (AI) and other technology to create business and social impact at the AI Innovations Awards 2026, set for Dec. 10 at the Grand Men Seng Hotel in Davao City, according to Mindanao Times.

Now in its third edition, the event will gather business leaders, innovators, government partners and industry stakeholders. It will serve as the closing event of Digital Frontiers (AI Summit 2.0), which aims to strengthen cooperation among government agencies and the academe to speed up AI adoption, improve digital infrastructure and build a future-ready workforce.

The summit carries the theme "From Connectivity to Capability" and is built around three pillars: infrastructure capability, people capability and AI readiness. Organizers said the program will focus on preparing Mindanao's businesses and workers for the growing digital economy and on honoring those who have led such transformations, with the goal of promoting the region as a destination for technology-driven investment.

Speaking at a media forum on Nov. 4, ICT Davao chairman Atty. Samuel Matunog described Digital Frontiers 2026 as "a critical platform to align strategies, showcase emerging technologies, and forge partnerships" as Mindanao moves from basic connectivity toward stronger digital capability.

The awards will cover 14 recognitions under Corporate, Individual and Special categories. ICT Davao executive vice president Xavier Eric Manalastas said nominations are open to anyone implementing AI that has made an impact on communities and on employees within their organizations.

Manalastas added that ICT Davao has put AI at the center of its work since the COVID-19 pandemic to help ensure the Davao Region is ready and resilient.

Why it matters for Davao

Local companies, organizations and individuals using AI can seek recognition, and the summit is part of an effort to position Davao and Mindanao as a destination for technology-driven investment.
