“Hindi ko pa nakita yung events sa (I have not seen the events for) Kadayawan but I make sure na on days that I am needed, I will be here,” the vice-president said in an interview with the media when asked of her attendance in next month’s event.
The vice president also mentioned that Senator Imee Marcos and the presidential sibling would attend the yearly gathering.
Duterte responded, "Of course, I'll be with Senator Imee (Marcos)."
By then, Duterte added, the National Book Board's Mindanao leg of the National Book Fair will be taking place, and the Department of Education (DepEd) will host a celebration during Kadayawan time.
Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc would reportedly send a delegation to Kadayawan, according to Marcos.
To invite all Dabawenyos to visit Ilocos so that we can join in tourism, Marcos remarked, "We will send a contingent."
The second Kadayawan celebration to take place in person after the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions were relaxed will take place this year.
In the nation, Kadayawan is known as the King of Festivals. Every third week in August, there are celebrations that highlight Davao City's abundant harvest and the tranquility among the 11 tribes that call its territory home.
In the 1980s, Kadayawan was once referred to as the Apo Duwaling Festival.
It was formally dubbed the Kadayawan sa Dabaw celebration in 1988, and it is now a well-known celebration all over the world.
