In a radio interview, PRO-Davao spokesperson Police Major Eudisan Gultiano stated that the region's police station had not received any formal complaints.

Gultiano revealed that there have been reported cases of missing people. These, however, cannot be linked to kidnapping or abduction.

"Lahat ng missing na person, pag nawawala, laging ina-attribute na kinidnap. May mga investigation naman tayo, pero 'yung ibang missing, umaalis ng bahay, naglalayas, pinapagalitan. Pero hindi lahat na 'yun ay dahil kinidnap ng puting van (What happened was that whenever there’s a missing person, people would always attribute that they were kidnapped. We had investigations, and what happened is that some of them left their homes and ran away after being scolded. But not all of them were kidnapped by a white van)," she said in an interview on 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio.

With this, the PRO-Davao official appealed to the public to immediately report to them if they knew a certain individual who was kidnapped so that they would immediately conduct an investigation, and provide immediate action.

She also urged them to avoid spreading false information on social media, which might cause panic.

Gultiano said they had intensified police visibility to avoid criminal cases.

In a report from RMN Davao, Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte met with the female minor who was reported missing by her family on Friday, August 26.

The girl was reportedly spotted at Luna Extension, Digos City, Davao del Sur on Thursday evening, August 25.

According to the report, she belied reports that she was kidnapped, as what was being spread on social media.
