PSSCC head Angel Sumagaysay told SunStar Davao on May 10, 2022, that there were no major election-related incidents on Monday, May 9.

“Ang kinatibukan nga peace and order condition ng city, very peaceful and normal. Wala ta nakita or na-encounter na problema,” Sumagaysay said.

This was also echoed by DCPO spokesperson Police Major Teresita Gaspan who said there were no reported cases that affected the national and local polling activities.

However, DCPO arrested 12 individuals in six separate police operations for violating the election liquor ban of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) but Gaspan said there were no other crimes against property reported.

“Wala ta’y mga reported cases na naka-apekto sa pagpadagan sa maong national and local election,” Gaspan said during a radio interview.

For the whole of Davao Region, Comelec-Davao assistant regional director lawyer Gay Enumerables also said there were no security issues in the voting precincts in Davao Region.

“So far as to security issues, wala ta’y problema sa Region 11 (Davao), okay siya. Wala’y reported untoward incident,” she said.

Gaspan said Davao City will remain on heightened security alert for anti-criminality activities and post-election incidents in election watchlist areas.
