No more walk-ins for DSWD student financial aid payments

A memorandum of understanding for the implementation and distribution of the agency's educational assistance was signed by the DSWD and the Department of the Interior and Local Government on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

This seeks to use the assistance of the local government to make the distribution of financial aid for education orderly (LGU).

Elementary school students in need will receive P1,000; high school students will receive P2,000; senior high school students will receive P3,000; and college or vocational students will receive P4,000.

Tulfo, meanwhile, stated that Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) recipients who received financial aid on Saturday should return the funds as they are no longer qualified for the program.

If they refuse, the DSWD will take the money out of their monthly 4Ps cash assistance.

According to Tulfo, 53,000 students have received P154 million so far through the program.

According to him, they anticipate that between 375,000 and 400,000 impoverished students will receive the one-time financial aid.

Prior to the start of the nation's basic education classes on August 22, the aid was dispersed.

Central Visayas

According to the DSWD 7, the regional office in Central Visayas has given P9.7 million to 4,551 needy students living in the area since August 20.

Of the total, 852 attend college, 741 are seniors in high school, 1,340 are in high school, and 1,688 are in elementary school.
