The Assistant Regional Director of Comelec-Davao, lawyer Gay Enumerables, noted that many eligible voters in their jurisdiction have not yet registered since the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
"We have been registering many individuals, especially focusing on young voters who did not register during the last BSKE," Enumerables mentioned in an interview with dxDC-RMN earlier this week.
Enumerables also stated in a press conference last month that the agency is ensuring smooth voter registration processes and is committed to addressing the needs of voters. "We aim to accommodate all applicants before the September 30 deadline, ensuring a hassle-free process without complaints or overcrowding in the final two weeks," the lawyer affirmed.
As of February to March, the agency has received over 120,000 applications for voter registration, transfer, correction of information, and reactivation.
