Business Bureau head Maribel Paguican announced over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) that the bureau had received 13,806 applications, a rise of 1,894 compared to the five-day operation last year, when there were 11,912 applications.
In the first five days following business renewal application, the results show a 16 percent increase.
"In our first five days of operation, the results were negative. Compared to the five-day operation last year, which had 11,912 applications, we generated 13,806 this year, she added.
She stated that 2,648 out of the 13,806 or 19% have already paid. Only 5% of them have paid compared to the desired 50,000 applications, though.
She remarked, "Sige lang, second week pa man basin duna pa'y improvement this week, hopefully, to prevent the entry of the mga adlaw,"
In addition to the office in the SP building, the city has opened satellite registration locations for Talomo and Agdao districts, Buhangin district, Calinan district, and Baguio district Treasury Office. These locations process new businesses and business renewals.
The additional locations are the Paquibato District Treasury Office, Toril District Treasury Office, Tugbok Treasury Office, Bunawan District Treasury Office, and Marilog District Treasury Office.
In order to make the process of renewing their business licences more convenient and effective, business owners are also encouraged to apply and trade online.
